About Kellie Gillespie
A licensed Funeral Director in the state of California, Kellie Gillespie graduated with honors from the San Francisco College of Mortuary Science in 1998. After serving a two-year apprenticeship at the McAvoy O’Hara Evergreen mortuary in San Francisco, Kellie became Assistant Manager of the Arthur J. Sullivan & Company Funeral Home, also in San Francisco, where she saw a growing need for creativity and inspiration in planning funeral ceremonies.
Prior to beginning her mortuary career, Kellie graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and attended Vista College, where she finally learned her “native” language of American Sign Language. She has since presented workshops for the Deaf Senior Citizens of Walnut Creek, the Deaf Widows Circle, San Jose Deaf Senior Citizens, Rainbow Association of Deaf conference in Seattle, St. Benedict’s Parish for the Deaf, the San Francisco Deaf Gay Lesbian Bisexual Trans Center/DCARA, the Deaf Senior Citizen’s conference in San Francisco and the Deaf Senior Citizens of Georgia conference.
Kellie currently resides inĀ Seattle, Washington enjoying her life in the now – because you just never know.
